Chiropractic Care focuses on the health and wellbeing of your spine and nervous system and is a natural, safe and scientific health care option.
Your musculoskeletal system (your body) is made up of hundreds of muscles and bones. Your nervous system, made up of your brain and kilometers of nerves that travels through the body, controlling muscles, organs and cells which allows your body to breathe, move, think, see and exist.
When your spine is compromised i.e. restricted in movement, it affects the delicate relationship between your brain and your body, it’s what Chiropractors refer to as subluxation. These subluxations restrict the ability for the nervous system to communicate with your body. The spine, skull and pelvis all allow for movement of the body and function of the nervous system, and is a vital nutrient for healthy living.
The principles of Chiropractic care is that your body should be able to heal itself and your organs self-regulate. Your nervous system sends trillions of messages every second between your brain and body so your body is reliant on it functioning effectively. If these messages are interrupted your brain won’t make adequate decisions and may impact your heath in a number of ways such as migraines, back pain, illness…..
Restoring the flow of your nervous system, through Chiropractic care can help build and maintain optimal health.
During your initial consultation you receive a physical examination and if you agree we provide treatment. Your chiropractor will ask you a number of health related and condition specific questions in order compete a full assessment. Your answers will assist in determining whether any further special tests are required (such as x-rays) prior to continuing with the physical examination.
During your initial consultation with Yarra Valley Innate Chiropractic, you’ll receive a detailed consultation where we will ask you a series of questions about your overall health as well as specific questions relating to any conditions you have.
Your initial appointment will run for 30 minutes which will enable us to determine whether any further tests are required i.e. x-rays to gain a clear picture of the spine prior to continuing with any physical exams. We may also use a range of assessment tools including EMG scans (measures electrical activity of your muscles and assists us to identify nerve interference).
Once we have conducted a full assessment we can provide you with a health care plan to get you on the road to better health.
The human body is a complex system made up of nerves, muscles, bones and joints all working together to achieve motion. Nerve fibers stimulate muscles to enable them to contract, which in turn moves the bones around the joints and the nerve system controls it all.
A lack of motion can have a detrimental effect on everything from our digestion, emotional state, how our immune system functions, concentration levels, our sleep and even to how long we live. Without enough motion, your body cannot function efficiently. Over time you may begin to experience a range of conditions from headaches to high blood pressure not to mention reduced energy levels and the lack of ability to mentally focus.
